Whether browsing your latest off-loads from a phone or tablet, or curating an image archive, system previewers or full graphics editors are not always convenient. You may need something special that fits between these extremes. And you do not have to shell out for it.

Gwenview is also extensible with Kipi plugins that will do even more, though J.C. has not found a use for such; this application is his preference in Linux for its defined uses. There are similar applications used by others at NDAS, and we will get to those later.

Gwenview is only available for Linux. If you use Windows or OS X, do not feel left out. We will soon present free and/or open source alternatives for you. For Linux users, see the links in “Resources: Graphics.”
